I have a confession to make... I would much rather shop for clothes for a little girl than a little boy. I'm in no way, shape, or form saying that I would rather have a little girl, because I LOVE my little boy and think he is the most awesome child in the whole wide world. That being said, boys clothes are sooooooo boring and blah! It's almost depressing when I go to shop for my little guy's clothes and see the limited selection available for him and then glance over at the massive little girl section! So I'm a sucker for little girls clothing in all it's cuteness. But when it's cute and MODERN then I'm even more sucked in. In my opinion Three Yellow Starfish has the most adorably modern pinafores I have ever seen!! They are all created out of the coolest looking designer fabric around and are reversible.

Aren't the fabrics amazing? At first I thought it would make a great baby shower gift...but then I decided that I just had to keep it, because one day I will have a little girl and this pinafore will be perfect for her! :)

When I was approached by an ACTUAL author about her being featured on Dandy Giveaway I was so excited, because....I love to read! I also love to read CLEAN books and if it's historical then all the better! L.C. (Laurie) Lewis is a mother and an author who grew up in rural Maryland. Obviously this part of the country is rich in history of the early founding of our nation. So it's not surprising that Laurie would use her talent to craft novels about the life and times in our nation's history; particularly the War of 1812. She is the author of a series entitled Free Men and Dreamers; Volume 1, Dark Sky At Dawn and Volume 2, Twilight's Last Gleaming.

The third volume was just released this month: Dawn's Early Light.

On a recent Thanksgiving trip to Salt Lake City I just had to pick up a copy of the first volume. Well, two Deseret Books and a Barnes and Noble later I found it! Apparently after the release of the third book there has been a rush on the first one and it was hard to come by in store. But both book stores are very good about stocking their shelves, so I'm sure the new shipment is already on order! :) And there is never anything wrong with buying books online. Fitz's Rootbeer

Fitz's Rootbeer has long been a favorite (starting in 1947) among the locals of St. Louis, MO and a hidden treasure for those who come to visit the city. Over the years it has disappeared and changed locations, but always seemed to find its way back to the community. In 1985 Fitz's Rootbeer was bottled again and in 1993 Fitz's Restaurant established home in what's know as The Loop in University City. My husband and I loved to frequent Fitz's while we were dating. And it's so fun to live back in the area, so we can visit the restaurant again! It's a fun location and setting with a working soda bottling company to be viewed inside.
